The word faq is no command, but an acronym for the expression "frequently asked questions" and describe some sort of doumentation on a certain topic. The FAQs are classically posted into the usenet-newsgroups and cotain various question and answers. FAQs are mainly posted in special newsgroups called ".answer", like "alt.answer" , "de.answer" and so on, but they are as well posted into the normal groups to avoid the continous asking of the same old boring questions. For that purpose, FAQs are rich of information and represent in most cases the compressed knowledge of the issue. Reading FAQs is a good idea if you want to get latest infos, but you have to be aware, that there may be FAQs which contain as well false information.
